How and why it formed:This clan was an ancient dynasty of kings before the Sage of Six paths. They were part of a rival kingdom to Rikudou's mother, and as such, they were defeated when she gained the first chakra. However, being arrogant and ambitious, they soon gained this power as well, and began to create weapons from it. This was the very first among jutsus in the world, and helped them regain the throne. Over the next few years, decadence and corruption beat them down once again, and they were lost to history.
What it does: It's a clan, what do you expect? They have access to their special bloodline, but that's about it. They have an enormous ego, normally.

The clan's function? Well, they used to be royalty, as mentioned before, but now they have been reduced to power-craving (or crazed) people, who desire their former glory.
